Track 0: Stolberg hairpin bend

The layout of the “Spijkspoor” association was modelled on the connecting railroad from Stolberg (Rhineland) to Münsterbusch, which has long since disappeared. A special operational feature here is the hairpin bend.

In 1968, the line is no longer heavily used, as the zinc smelter is already shut down. Scrap metal, zinc coils and zinc white are the main goods for transportation. With BR94 and mostly BR50 cabin tender some freight cars are transported daily from and to Münsterbusch.
The facility is equipped with many details, some of them movable, which can be activated by the visitors.
