Hands-on activities at Faszination Modellbau Friedrichshafen

At the Faszination Modellbau – Echtdampf – LEGO Fan Exhibition Friedrichshafen you can not only see and buy, but also actively participate in model building. What is offered, suitable for young people and adults, you can find in the file below to download and in the visitor program
Hall A1
PIKO Spielwaren GmbH, Booth no. 1230
The play area invites big and small children to linger and play with PIKO garden trains and HO model trains. Playing with our new clamp building block cars in both track sizes provides creative driving fun.
There will also be our popular float painting campaign again.
Gebr. Märklin & Cie. GmbH, booth no. 1340
A large play area invites children from 3 years to play. With My Word and Start up and with the LGB, children can let their imagination run wild. Märklin connects generations.
Junior College Europe from BDEF, booth no. 1460
At the JuniorCollegeEuropa hands-on event, children and young people are introduced to model railroads by building and playing independently at stations in a sensible sequence. Under the guidance of students from the Maria-Ward-Gymnasium Günzburg who are experienced model builders, they build their own small diorama and learn everything they need to know to creatively design their own layout – at eye level: from young people for young people. Meanwhile, parents can take a relaxed stroll through the halls. And what makes the children’s eyes shine in particular: Afterwards, everyone can take their diorama home with them, all free of charge thanks to the generous support of the trade fair, as well as model railroad manufacturers such as Auhagen, Faller, Greenkeeper and Piko!
All participants also have the chance to win attractive prizes on every day of the fair. Awards ceremonies will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
At the LEGO table with the track circle for the brick wagons, everyone can give free rein to their creativity and build the craziest vehicles. Children of all ages lose themselves in the world of colorful bricks. At the wooden train set, the youngest children can let off steam and put together exciting tracks – safe the longest track ever – on and around the play mat and play on it extensively.
Hall A2
BSW model railroad group Lindau, stand 2220
Model train children’s play layout: After a short introduction, the model train can be controlled independently. As the layout is equipped with shunting tracks, the children can operate a real shunting service. It gets really interesting when they drive according to the switchable signals.
Hall A3
Traxxas Try-me-Track, Booth 3032
After a short introduction, children and young people can drive the popular Traxxas vehicles themselves on the test track. Those who are already a bit more experienced are welcome to try a few jumps or even do a little race. Curious adults are also cordially invited to take a test drive. We are looking forward to seeing you!
VTH – Scavenger Hunt, Booth no. 3100
For the seventh time, this year’s Faszination Modellbau 2025 will feature an exciting scavenger hunt for children and young people across all exhibition halls. All you have to do is solve all the puzzles at the various exhibitor stands correctly. All participants will receive the necessary questionnaire at the entrance to the fair or at the VTH booth. Great starter models and non-cash prizes will be raffled off among all correctly completed questionnaires. Raffle: Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the VTH booth.

MFSD – Modellflugsportverband Deutschland, Booth no. 3230
Who flies best? On our flying field, you can compete with your gliders. You can build and paint your own gliders at our stand.
Flying competitions are then held at regular intervals. Sweet prizes await the winners. Children and young people learn about manual skills and the construction of a simple aircraft and experience the competitive spirit of model flying.
Deutscher Modellflieger Verband e.V., booth no. 3430
Children between the ages of 6 and 14 can build and fly a balsa wood glider at the German Model Flying Association.
Making your first working model aircraft with your own hands is a real challenge, but also a lot of fun and makes you want to do more.
Expert and experienced helpers from the DMFV accompany the event. Every participating child receives a small gift.
Young and old, beginners and professionals alike can test their flying skills on the IKARUS 9 flight simulator and realistically control many different model aircraft. Professional pilots from the DMFV will be on hand to provide support.
TA Modellbau, booth no. 3530
At the TA Modellbau stand, visitors can look forward to a very special hands-on activity: Here, young and old “drivers” can put their skills to the test and drive crawlers and drift cars on the test track.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
Aichner’s Bastelwerkstatt (Andy’s Bastelecke), booth no. 3624
Let Andy Aichner infect you with the “handicraft virus” again this year, cutting, sanding & gluing the familiar materials such as poplar, plywood and mainly balsa wood with the appropriate tools, as always under expert supervision – so every child creates their OWN model from the appropriate wood, which flies, rolls or floats & can be taken home after successful work!
This self-constructed model airplane, which has been visually transformed from the 2nd to the 3rd dimension, is still being tested on site – as a very special treat, the Aichner handicraft corner is once again offering a real highlight this year: by prior arrangement, a slightly larger model airplane can also be built, these gliders with a wingspan of between 80 and 100 cm are real high-performance free-flight models, which with a little skill can be transformed into a remote-controlled model airplane – more information on this is available directly at stand 3624!
Of course, experienced hobbyists will also get their money’s worth,
as always, easy and somewhat more complex repairs will be demonstrated live,
as we all know, where there’s planing, there’s chipping!
There will also be a nice LEGO corner again, where you can solve my “LEGO puzzle” on old rails with steam locomotive & wagons – if you succeed, you’ll get a nice surprise!
So, the Bastelecke Aichner is again VERY much looking forward to your visit, take a good mood & even more crafting joy with you, then nothing can go wrong!

Once again this year, the Neckarpiraten team invites you to the popular “Shipyard for Kids” at Faszination Modellbau – an absolute highlight that you should not miss at this year’s trade fair!
Isn’t there still a bit of childhood in all of us? Model making fascinates people of all ages and connects generations – from the youngest hobbyists to experienced tinkerers. That’s why not only children are welcome, of course, but anyone who enjoys creating something of their own.
In just 10 to 15 minutes, small masterpieces are created that can be tried out right away in the 4×3 meter mini water pool in Hall A5 – which is directly opposite the “Shipyard for Kids”.
An unforgettable experience with lots of fun for the whole family!
