FASZINATION MODELLBAU Friedrichshafen with real steam hall meeting & LEGO fan exhibition
From October 31 to November 2, 2025, FASZINATION MODELLBAU, together with the Echtdampf-Hallentreffen and the LEGO fan exhibition, exceeded all expectations: Over 50,000 visitors flocked to Friedrichshafen and experienced three eventful days at the tri-border region of Lake Constance – and together with the huge number of exhibitors, made the event once again the largest of its kind.
An event that exceeded all expectations
“FASZINATION MODELLBAU 2025 was an extraordinary success,” sums up Andreas Wittur, authorized representative of the organizing Messe Sinsheim. He continues: “With over 50,000 visitors, we have even reached the strong pre-corona level and have once again proven that this event is the largest of its kind.”
The overwhelming success of this trade fair was no coincidence: the unique combination of spectacular shows, hands-on activities and the world’s largest variety of model building made these three days an unforgettable event. From the FMT air show at the international airport to the steaming locomotives of the real steam hall meeting to the creative LEGO worlds – nowhere else can we experience such a wide range at the highest level.
Experience instead of just looking
What sets FASZINATION MODELLBAU apart from other events is also its unique hands-on character: here, visitors can not only marvel, but also become active themselves. From the walk-in, four-kilometer-long track system of the real steam hall meeting, on which the public can even take a ride, to the numerous workshops and experience stations – there are opportunities for hands-on activities everywhere.
Children and young people were able to try their hand at building and controlling RC cars, model ships and model aircraft, while experienced model builders deepened their knowledge in practical presentations and training sessions. This combination of watching and participating, inspiration and practical application made for an unforgettable experience for all generations.
Novelties to touch and try out
With its date at the end of the current season and before the new season, FASZINATION MODELLBAU is the ideal place for presenting new products. However, unlike pure product trade fairs, visitors can not only view the innovations here, but often also try them out and test them directly.
Thorsten Rechthaler from aero-naut summarizes: “Every year we look forward to this leading trade fair for model making in Friedrichshafen on beautiful Lake Constance. We show all our new products here – and have once again received a great response from visitors.” Christina Kerschbaum from Herpa says: “Of course, we also brought our new models with us: for example, our new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in a Christmas design or the new fire engine from the Friedrichshafen fire department.”
Bernd Brand from ScaleArt is simply thrilled: “Faszination Modellbau is the most important trade fair of the year for us. It is perfectly located geographically in the border triangle, the atmosphere is always fantastic – and we look forward to presenting our new products exclusively here every year.” It is particularly important to him to offer visitors something special: “We have created a very challenging course that directly demonstrates the performance of the models in practice.”
Exchange from person to person
In times of online trade, personal contact between manufacturers, dealers and customers is becoming increasingly valuable. FASZINATION MODELLBAU offers precisely this atmosphere: this is where like-minded people meet, exchange experiences and receive competent advice directly from the experts.
Jochen Gabbert from BRAWA states: “It was a really well-attended trade fair. The aisles were full and we had a lot of customers and fans at our stand.” Christian Auerweck from ROCO/Fleischmann was also pleased with the many personal encounters: “FASZINATION MODELLBAU is particularly important for us. We are very pleased to be represented in Friedrichshafen with our ROCO and Fleischmann brands. We always have many, many customer contacts here.”
A major trade fair event that connects
The success of the event lies in its special formula: spectacular demonstrations meet expert consultations, highly professional exhibitions meet fun hands-on activities, international exhibitors meet local and national clubs. This diversity creates an atmosphere in which beginners feel just as comfortable as professionals, families and trade visitors alike.
